The<br>collection includes over 10,000 materials, including books, audio books (Playaways), magazines, and tech equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Circulation is approximately 400 to 500 items per week, and the catalog is managed using Destiny Library Manager software program. A student computer is available to access the library catalog. The library also features a SmartBoard and a Lego wall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Library skills are taught sequentially by the librarian and integrated into the curriculum through<br>collaboration with the classroom teacher. Students are free to come to the library outside their<br>regularly scheduled period: before school, during Resource, or at the teacher\u2019s discretion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">OLMC School Library adheres to the standards adopted by the American Library Association. The goal is to educate students to become information literate in a Christian Catholic setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Jubilee Book Club is available to honor a special event or person and benefit the library!<br>As a reading incentive, the library will promote Famous Readers. To become a famous reader,<br>a K-3 student (K-3) must read 30 books in one trimester (K-1 may be read to), a 4-5 student<br>must read 15, and a 6-8 student must read 10. To participate, a student should request a Book<br>Tracker from the librarian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Communication<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Teachers may be contacted any time via email or phone. Parents are encouraged to contact teachers with any questions or concerns.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Homework Procedures<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Homework and long term projects when assigned will be posted on Google Classrooms for Grades 4-8.\u00a0\u00a0It will be the responsibility of the student to copy assignments accurately and completely into his\/her planner during their library period.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>Grading Procedure<\/strong> &#8211; Grades 4-8<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Research, note taking, use of sources and works cited is graded by the librarian according to the rubric provided.\u00a0 This grade is applied to the ELA writing grade.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>Discipline Procedures<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Each classroom seeks to foster the values of a Catholic, Christian community: reverence, kindness, courtesy, justice, respect, hospitality and cooperation.
