Chicken Pox:<\/strong>\u00a0 Excluded until at least 6 days after the last outbreak of \u201cpox\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Acute Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye<\/strong>): Excluded until prescribed treatment has been given for 24 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Head Lice<\/strong>: Excluded until treated with pediculocide shampoo and combed for nit removal. A parent is required to accompany the student to the health office with the shampoo box for a recheck after treatment, before the student is readmitted to class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Impetigo<\/strong>: Excluded until judged non-infective by the child\u2019s physician or school nurse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Measles<\/strong>: Excluded until four days from onset of rash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mumps<\/strong>: Excluded nine days from the onset or until swelling subsides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Pertussis (Whooping Cough):<\/strong> Excluded four weeks from onset or seven days from start of antibiotic treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ringworm<\/strong>: Excluded until judged non-infective by the child\u2019s physician or school nurse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rubella (German measles):<\/strong> Excluded four days from the onset of rash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Scabies<\/strong>: Excluded until determined to be non-infective by the child\u2019s physician or school nurse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Strep Throat and Scarlet Fever<\/strong>: Excluded until 24 hours after treatment is begun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition, Our Lady of Mount Carmel School reserves the right to exclude children from school based on the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n You must contact the health office if your child contracts a communicable disease.
