{"id":5781,"date":"2020-11-01T14:52:46","date_gmt":"2020-11-01T19:52:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ourladymtcarmelschool.org\/?page_id=5781"},"modified":"2024-08-26T23:02:47","modified_gmt":"2024-08-27T03:02:47","slug":"medication-policy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/olmcs.org\/?page_id=5781","title":{"rendered":"Medication Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>All medications, whether prescription or over-the-counter, must be kept in the health office.&nbsp; Medications must be sent to school in the original labeled container and must be accompanied by a Medication Dispensing Form signed by both the physician (or dentist) and the parent.&nbsp; These forms are available in the health office or on the school website in the parent resource section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parental permission may be given for the nurse to administer Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen by signing the appropriate place on the back of the emergency cards distributed each September.&nbsp;&nbsp; In addition, non-prescription medications such as cough drops, throat spray, antacid tablets and antibiotic ointment are available for administration in the health room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All controlled medications must be hand-delivered to the school nurse or principal\u2019s designee by a parent or guardian at which time it will be counted and signed for.
