The following are the summaries of the curriculum covered in each of these subject areas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"subtitle\" align=\"center\"><strong>Religion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\" align=\"left\">Text \u2013 <u>We Believe We Meet Jesus in the Sacraments (5).<\/u> Sadlier, 2015.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\" align=\"left\">Students will participate in daily prayer and reflection. They will study Jesus\u2019 mission, the New Testament, the liturgical year, church tradition, the Mass, the seven sacraments, and feast days which honor Our Blessed Mother and saints. Classroom activities will help to reflect Jesus\u2019 mission and promote positive spiritual, social and emotional growth for our students. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2015.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\" align=\"left\">The students will build from a sound foundation in basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division skills. Students will develop fluency in operations and algebraic thinking through writing and interpreting numerical expressions and analyzing patterns and relationships. Students will understand place value and perform operations with whole numbers and decimals. Students will apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication and division of fractions. Students will develop an understanding of geometric measurements as it relates to volume and two dimensional figures. Using real world and mathematical problems, students will interpret and graph data points on all four quadrants of the coordinate plane. Emphasis will be given to developing the student\u2019s mathematical vocabulary.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\" align=\"center\"><strong><span class=\"subtitle\">Science<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\" align=\"left\">Text \u2013\u00a0<u>HMH Science Dimensions.<\/u>\u00a0 Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2018.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span class=\"bodytext\">The students will study life, physical and earth science through a curriculum that is founded on the scientific method and infused with an understanding of the roles technology and engineering play therein. The course of study will emphasize inquiry and \u201chands\u2013on\u201d experimentation. Life processes, biomes, environment and energy, properties of light, electricity and magnetism, the solar system will be explored. The textbook is available online from home. Technology will be integrated into the science curriculum to enhance the students\u2019 understanding and applicability of materials presented.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><span class=\"subtitle\">Social Studies<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\" align=\"left\">Text \u2013 <u>World Studies: Western Hemisphere <u><\/u><\/u>. Prentice Hall, 2008.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\" align=\"left\">The study of the Western Hemisphere will include the presentation of\u00a0 culture,\u00a0 historical background and physical geography, climate, vegetation, and natural resources of North and South America in a regional format.
