Student Support Services

At Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, teachers and administrators truly care about their students and want to see them succeed.  Whether students are in need of academic tutoring, counseling, or speech and language services, OLMC School offers a variety of support solutions to ensure that students meet their goals.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT SERVICES

Our school counselor provides individual educational testing used to assess student ability and academic achievement.  Upon completion of the testing process, the counselor meets with parents, teachers and administrators to review the results of the comprehensive report, to offer recommendations, and to establish an educational plan.

If an academic need presents itself, a student is referred to a psychologist provided by Catapult Learning for a psychoeducational evaluation.  Students who qualify for accommodations or modifications to the academic program are provided with an Individual Student Teams plan (IST) which is developed by our Learning Support teacher and the principal. Our full-time Learning Support teacher works with students, teachers and parents to ensure the that the IST plan is fully implemented and adjusted as needed.

As the name indicates, teachers, parents, students and the principal work together to outline the supports needed to ensure individual student success.
